21.11. 2012 Next week in Strasbourg: Tunne Kelam MEP's report on the development of a comprehensive cyber security and defence strategy.

On Wednesday 21 November MEPS will call for the EU's own strong and effective security and defence policy in a joint debate.

The Arnaud Danjean MEP Report on the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) expresses the European Parliament's views on the implementation of the European Security Strategy in the context of the CSDP, covering both developments during the past year and future developments. The Rapporteur wants to ensure that the European Parliament takes into account the strategic, budgetary and capability developments that should encourage the EU and its Member States to promote the CSDP.

Tunne Kelam MEP's Report calls for the development of a comprehensive cyber security and defence strategy on all levels in the EU: "We need better coordination and more coherence - currently the EU is missing an exhaustive overview on the existing cyber security challenges and is also lacking common definitions, standards and a united approach to these threats."

Vote on Thursday 22 November.
